The Shoemaker

Sometimes, even though you don’t make shoes, let alone a product of any kind, you are the shoemaker.

Sometimes being barefoot is just the way it has to be.

Hopefully, your family understands. You have to make tough choices and they are not easy but the rent has to be paid, the groceries have to be bought and the old sneakers may need to wait to be replaced.

Time may come later when it is the other way around.

Vacations together with plenty of time having fun, dinners out and brand new kicks.

It isn’t easy to forget, because the visual imagery and the empathy of not having enough time to focus on your own self is kind of sad.

You will figure it out and be able to step away, look at it from a new perspective – do what you need to do – and make that list as long as needed to focus on what matters most.

I am sure that it was more than just an observation or a good tale that someone told. I believe that the shoemaker (or the cobbler if you want to go really old-school) really existed and inspired the story. So, in case you had forgotten, here I am to remind you.
