We all want to skip the line when…

it is too long.

we are in a hurry.

there is an option to take a shortcut.

you know someone who is closer to the front.

we think we have earned it because we have status.

Then again, sometimes, you can pay for the privilege to skip the line. However, if the fee is too low, every one (or nearly everyone) will choose this option. And… then, we are back where we started, unless they create an even more privileged option, which will of course…cost more. (You see where I am going with this don’t you?)
