Do you save the best for last, or get right to it?
I know there are varying strategies on this and the people who want to wait are probably often working with the ones who do not.
So, do you share the favorite design or campaign… lead up to it, showing the runners up and then BOOM the one you like the most at the end. Pinning all of your hope on that they will love it, too.
Or, do you look at it as a compromise. Mix it in. Not first, not last. Somewhere in the middle – but not exactly in the middle, and probably a place closer to the front or end – depending on your belief in the psychology (first or last).
Before I share my opinion on this. Let’s chat about other things…in these categories, the favored is first and always first:
- wine
- appetizer
- chocolates in a mixed box
- book you want to read
- outfit on a trip
But when it comes to creative presentations…which is what we are discussing here, today. For me, the answer depends.
If I already know the client will agree with me, I save the best for last. There, I said it. Now you know. If I am unsure of their thought process, then I may mix it in to the group. Toward the end. Never first. That said…the best cup of coffee of the day is always the first; unless it isn’t and then you spend the rest of the day seeking it out. Unfortunately, it will probably elude you until tomorrow.
