International Women’s Day IWD 2024 is here and nearly done at this point. While that is true, the fact remains that we welcome accolades of all – women, men, boys and girls – any day of the year.

I’d be remiss if I did not say that I am forever grateful for those who came before me.

My great grandmother on my mom’s side, years prior (not sure how many “greats”) on my dad’s.

My husband’s grandmother and grandfather, too.

All of whom had the guts and gumption – maybe with a little fear – mixed in likely with a lot of dreaming of what it would be to come to America.

It is on their shoulders, along with countless others who fought for rights related to humanity, opportunity, fair treatment, and wages that we stand. Those women who stood tall, smart and shared their opinions. Those men who supported them and asked them for their ideas.

Strong women, not just on one day, this March 8th and IWD 2024 – may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them. You know more than you think. You are smarter than you believe. You can do anything you set out to accomplish. You are loved, supported and admired. Remember how you got here and who helped you along the way – whether they are male or female. We can’t live this life alone, and we can certainly make it better for all.
