If Things Are Working

The old saying goes…Don’t fix something if it isn’t broken. Which is certainly pretty easy to say also, if things are working. In that case, you should probably leave it alone.

However.

Sometimes you are the one who changes.

Even though something else works perfectly, it just isn’t right for you anymore.

In this case you have a couple of options:

  • either you can change back

or

  • you can fix it

Just because it isn’t broken doesn’t mean it is efficient, productive comfortable, or perfect any more.

Or, maybe it is just going to take some time to get used to it.

Time changes things. As you age, the body doesn’t work as well; your eyes, your knees, your hearing. It’s more than just being broken. It’s totally different.

Maybe it isn’t a physical thing.

It is your perspective. Your experience. Your life has brought you to this moment and you have so much history of things being good, that what is happening isn’t satisfactory anymore.

In which case, you have to try to make a difference.

Of course, if things are working, you’re probably fine, and that’s just dandy. If not…well, you have to try to do something about it. Hopefully it is one of those things that you can fix. (Hopefully, it’s as easy as just putting on a pair of reading glasses, taking a yoga class or getting a hearing aid.) Other things may not be so easy. I wish you luck in this new endeavor. Let me know how it goes.
