You should always* follow directions.

Unless* they are translated from another language to English. Then, well, you should just try your best and take a guess at what it says.

• Start here. Go here. Do this next.
• Review all of the steps. Start at the beginning.
• Read the signs. Read them again.

You can go your own way, but there are many times when you will have better luck if you follow directions, then take the next step to make it even better.
