It isn’t hard, if you understand the geometry, you don’t even have to do the math.

Modern clocks are digital, not analog but, even still – you don’t need to really know the exactness of it – that doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter until you go digital.

Otherwise, it is fine to say:

• half past…
• quarter after…
• twenty minutes of…

And, that is important – to help you be able to randomly estimate the amount of time left without actually having to do the math. It is visual. Right there, in front of you. No math required. Bonus.
