We could just:

• show up
• sit at the kids table
• sip soda because it was allowed for the special occasion…
• sneak crunchy stuffing out of the turkey (risking a swat with the knife while PopPop carved the turkey)
• sleep on the couch, undisturbed even by the little ones

Look back at your own childhood Thankgivings and let your own kids rest and relax while you reflect. Let them have their own memories that they can reflect upon in the years to come.
