A 30 Minute Wait

When there is a 30 minute wait, it always feels like longer, especially if you’re waiting for:

Dinner – after skipping lunch

Wash cycle – when you need to dry the clothes and pack them to leave

Cake – that needs to cool so you can ice it and share for a party

Opening – curtain, on the new play you have wanted to see for a year

Appointment – at the doctor you don’t want to visit, but you need their professional opinion

Landfall – the thing they can predict, but not how long you might need to hang on to ride out the storm

Then again, a 30 minute wait flies by when it is too soon to leave, but not quite enough time to do a material amount of work.
