There really is nothing better than garden fresh herbs and tomatoes that are picked today. How is it that we have to live in a climate that doesn't allow for this year round? I know. It is in my control. I could move. I could relocate to Tuscany if I chose...but I don't. So, all summer long, and as far into fall as possible, I will enjoy the fresh herbs - basil, oregano and rosemary. I will be thankful when my mom comes to visit and brings fresh bread - or dough to be baked - even better, hot out of the oven. We will enjoy cherry and patio tomatoes that are so sweet, they taste like the fruit that scientists and nutritionists claim them to be. Maybe one day, I will make the decision to become an ex-Pat and move to Italy. Until then, summer is the time for garden fresh veggies. Sweet. Crisp. Ripe. Being from NJ I know a good tomato. If you don't...you can't judge me for wanting more. (I am definitely looking forward to spring already.) ~ Dawn aka Hat Girl
