When something is random and unpredictable, you have two choices.

Go with the flow and adapt.

Or…

Decide that it is too much, opt out and say no.

The problem is (however) that life is generally random and unpredictable. Which means you don’t really have a choice. It is better to understand and accept that you will have to figure it out along the way. Then, try to enjoy as many of the things that life will throw at you. Repeat anything you can control and limit your risk and exposure on the things you can’t.
