People can both win and lose at the same time.

You never know sometimes what will be the outcome. You may decide to support something and get the winning vote, but…then – you are on the positive side for business (whether that is your own or the place you work), and later realize it is the negative side for your personal life – or vice versa.

Or, you have to continue to fight for the win. Representing the constituency. Sit on the board. Show up at committee. Be in the room. Make decision after decision. Never making everyone happy.

Or, you can argue that you are right, because you are, but hurt someone’s feelings in the end.

It is not always win and lose, but when it is, that is just the way of life. In general, however, no matter what – the best thing to do is always try to do the right thing and make the best of it, no matter what comes down the pike.
