Too often, I know why a company does something, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.
And, yes, marketing is to blame.
There, I said it.
This thing they do, well. It isn’t easy to do it, in fact it is probably more difficult than you think. So, the best in the industry do these things, until others learn. Then, they start to follow.
Soon, it becomes commonplace, the norm.
Until, everyone is doing it (and it is more annoying than ever.)
No, it isn’t annoying because I didn’t think of it.
Actually, as a marketer…I say brilliant. I know why they’re doing it. It is just that I don’t want them to do it to me as a consumer.
