There are always a few ways to get things done.

The idea you had.

The idea they have (the way they do it).

The idea the programmer has.

It isn’t a set way. There are often different ideas, based on prior experience, perspective, bias or knowledge. In other words, there’s always a few ways to do it. So, listen to all of the options. Listen to the ideas. There are creative solutions. You just have to find which is the right one and go for it.
