In parenting, when we say “maybe later” it more likely means that it will never happen.
Or, some near approximation to never.
But, when we say it to ourselves, like “oh, maybe later I will get to this thing I need/want/should do” it means maybe, I will make time for it later. Funny how things are different depending on the perspective. Would you change your mind, or what you say, to others if you thought of it that way?
