Clean It Up

Clean it up and keep it prepped and ready for the next big thing. I’ve heard expert advice that making your bed each day is a good habit, one that if started young is easier to keep. You can extrapolate this to any area of your life – whether personal or work related – and it makes things so much easier, less stressful and so much more productive.

Think about the areas of your life where you spend a lot of time…

Your desk.

Your kitchen.

Your e-mail inbox.

Your house (in general).

Your schedule.

Then, think of right now…when you are in the annual timeline.

The holidays are a time when anyone – relative, friend or client – can drop into your world at any time. Be ready for them and able to pick up right where you’re needed. You want to be able to join in and celebrate every moment. The random visit, the last minute project request or an opportunity to make the end of the year even better.

This advice is not flippant. Clean it up once and then, the chore, task or work is easier with just a little bit of maintenance.
